Education Support Workers - Required

We are currently working with a number of Schools/Learning Centres that encompasses a day school (on and off site) and residential settings based in Poole, Dorset, offering specialised, high quality care and therapy for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties from 8-18 years old. The majority of students are either at risk, or have been excluded from mainstream schools.

Requirements of the role:

1. Support student's in or outside the classroom throughout the school day, in a range of subjects and activities such as reading, maths, ICT, PE.
2. Prepare classroom as directed for lessons, and clear afterwards. Provide administration support to the Teacher and Senior Teaching Assistant as required, such as photocopying, filing, typing of data, etc. and assist with the display of student's work.
3. To support the use of ICT effectively in the classroom and develop student's competence and independence in its use.
4. Establish good working relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
5. Promote and reinforce student's self-esteem, social development and independence, encouraging students to interact with others and engage in activities.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
