Are you passionate about helping young people reach their full potential?
We are currently seeking caring, motivated, and dedicated Education Support Workers to join an inclusive secondary school in Hartlepool. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who thrives on supporting students—particularly those with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning requirements—in both their academic and personal development.


Key Responsibilities

  • One-to-One and Group Support: Provide personalised support for students with varying learning needs, both in one-to-one settings and small group interventions.

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons, helping students stay on task and understand lesson content.

  • SEN Assistance: Support students with a range of SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.

  • Behaviour and Emotional Guidance: Promote positive behaviour strategies and provide emotional support where needed.

  • Tracking Progress: Help monitor student progress by keeping records of achievements and sharing feedback with teaching staff.

  • Promoting Independence: Encourage students to build confidence, independence, and self-esteem.

  • Adapt Learning Materials: Modify and adapt resources to ensure all students are fully included in classroom learning.


The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A genuine passion for education and a strong desire to support student development.

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or SEN environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships with students and staff.

  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students with complex needs.

  • A flexible and proactive approach to supporting learning and behaviour.

  • Knowledge or experience of supporting students with SEN (desirable but not essential).

  • Relevant qualifications such as GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous.
