East Lancashire School requires Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel work closely with a School based on the outskirts of Accrington, near Rawtenstall. The School provides education and support for pupils with SEMH difficulties, Autism, ODD, Asperger's and ADHD. Many of the pupils also have Anxiety and do require 1:1 support within the classroom.

The School is smaller than average and is based over two sites, it provides education for KS1-4 pupils and each site has approximately 60 pupils on roll. Many pupils do display challenging behviours and therefore strong classroom/behaviour management skills are essential. The candidate must be confident when diffusing difficult behaviours and a candidate who holds their Team Teach qualification would be preferable, however, this is not essential.

The role will start as soon as possible and the candidate may be expected to start the role on a supply, part time basis and you WILL be expected to complete one free trial day in School, this is so the School can ascertain your capabilities when working with pupils who display difficult behaviours.

The candidate must be hard working, have experience supporting pupils who display challenging behaviours and neurological difficulties. The successful candidate will benefit from:
