Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is currently working alongside a long-standing 'Outstanding' Nursery School in North Sheen, Richmond, who are on the lookout for an Early Years Teaching Assistant with experience working with Autistic children. The successful candidate will work within the school's Nursery Provision, designated for Social Communication Difficulties including Autistic Spectrum Conditions.

You must be able to provide; a communication-centred environment where pre-school children with social communication disorders are supported in all areas of their learning, a structured and predictable routine to aid understanding and maximise learning, and to work in partnership with parents and to offer advice and support.

The staff consists of a teacher in charge, a specialist speech and language therapist and two early years educators. An occupational therapist visits the provision fortnightly to work with the children and staff. By combining the disciplines of teaching, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy the team is able to plan and deliver a highly specialised curriculum.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant, who is looking for a long-term opportunity at an 'Outstanding' Nursery School. The role will be full-time, working normal school hours (8:30-15:30) every day and is to start immediately.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
