Teaching Personnel are working with a school in Huddersfield who are seeking a full time SEN Nursery Nurse in September. The school caters for pupils aged 2-11 with severe, profound and complex learning needs. Some pupils also have additional sensory, physical, medical, social or emotional needs.

You will be required to support pupils within an Early Years (EYFS) class aged between 2 and 5 years of age. In line with the EYFS framework, you will support pupils’ development towards Early Learning Goals within a continuous provision environment. As well as supporting access to activities such as Phonics, Literacy and Numeracy you will also facilitate activities designed to develop pupils’ emerging skills in communication and language, physical development and personal, social and emotional development.

As an experienced Nursery Nurse, you will have a firm understanding of working within EYFS and will be able to demonstrate your knowledge of:

  • Child development, both the biological and cultural aspects, and its impact on how learning may best be supported
  • Planning which ensures a relevant, motivating, flexible and interesting curriculum
  • Provision of an environment which truly enables successful learning by all children

In addition to supporting pupils within the Nursery, you may also be required to support pupils within Key Stage 1 and 2 during break and lunchtimes who may require support with feeding. Due to the complex nature of pupil needs, you will also provide personal care.

The successful applicant will have at least 6 months experience within a Nursery setting and may also have additional qualifications in Childcare and Education (i.e. CACHE or BTEC National Diploma).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
