Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a primary school in Edmonton, north London to recruit an Early Careers Teacher (ECT) to start a long-term contract teaching a Reception class from September 2024.

About the school: We are an aspirational and inclusive school where knowledge and understanding are developed through an innovative curriculum and enriched experiences. We provide learning opportunities that challenge and engage and use the most up-to-date resources, including every child having their own Chromebook. We provide personalised learning in order to ensure all children make excellent progress.

We pride ourselves on the excellent skills of our staff, who provide high quality teaching and learning experiences and always go the extra mile to ensure our children succeed! The opportunities for children to enhance skills and knowledge are available due to our amazing facilities which include a Performing Arts Studio, Creative Hub, DT Workshop, two school libraries and a specialist Music Room within the school. We have extensive outdoor grounds where children can access our outdoor gyms, learn about different species of animals at the pond or with our animals on the farm, plant and grow food in our edible garden or relax in our outdoor libraries. 

The role will specifically involve teaching a Reception class and sometimes Year 1 assuming the suitable candidate is able to support the students in that capacity. Whilst experience teaching at Key Stage 1 is essential, the school would also be willing to consider candidates who specialise in both lower or higher key stages.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education)
  • Have extensive experience teaching Maths up to GCSE level (Ideally A Level)
  • Be passionate about working with children
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills
  • Be able to manage and oversee the progress of up to thirty students per class on a daily basis
  • Hold or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce only)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
