Are you a passionate Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to begin your teaching career in a supportive and welcoming school environment? Teaching Personnel is working closely with a range of primary schools across Exeter, Devon, who are eager to support and develop ECTs at the start of their teaching journey.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience, build confidence, and work towards securing a long-term or permanent role.


About the Role

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated ECTs to work within supportive schools that are committed to high-quality teaching and professional development. You will benefit from strong mentoring, structured support, and opportunities to develop your teaching practice in line with the Early Career Framework (ECF).

Roles are available across EYFS and Primary settings, depending on your specialism and preferences.

  • Location: Exeter, Devon

  • Start Date: ASAP 

  • Role Type: Full-time / Part-time 

  • Pay: £23,400–£31,200 per annum (dependent on role and experience)

Your Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback

  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND

  • Work collaboratively with mentors, colleagues, and support staff

  • Uphold safeguarding and school policies


What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending qualification

  • ECTs or recently qualified teachers encouraged to apply

  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills

  • A reflective and proactive approach to professional development

  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
