A Bradford Primary school based in the BD5 area of the city are looking for a teacher who has a real passion to support pupils who are new to English or use English as an additional language to help raise attainment and progress. Initially the school would like this role to begin part time, 2 days a week and then lead up to full time, dependent on success. This school is going through a number of improvements to develop the success of the school. It is a 3 form entry primary school with great team of friendly staff and positive working environment.

The school supports pupils living within the local area where some pupils come from a wide range of diverse backgrounds. For this reason the school has to cater for additional EAL needs and are looking to bring on an extra teacher in this field.

Your role will involve leading intervention focusing on EAL two days a week where you will work with 1-8 pupils at a time across all year groups. Using your knowledge of Phonics will help to improve the children's levels of reading, writing and speaking of the English language.

The school is easily accessible from many public transport links and main routes from the M62 and M606.

The ideal candidate:

  • Will need to be a Fully Qualified Teacher and recent experience must be based within the classroom and within teaching.
  • Will have good knowledge of EAL and the Phonics curriculum.
  • Is comfortable across all Primary Year groups.
  • Able to plan in line with the EAL curriculum set out by the Senior Leadership team.
  • Available 2 days each week (with a possibility of becoming full time)
