An outstanding Multi-Academy trust are looking to appoint a Youth Worker to start ASAP. Initially, the position will be temporary for the first term. The school is in Bradford and caters for individuals between 4 - 19 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). These children can display challenging behaviours, so experience of supporting people under these circumstances is essential, and they may be from disadvantaged backgrounds, be Looked After, have attachment issues or various other mental health needs.

The role will involve planning and implementing outreach activities that are designed to encourage the development of pupil's life skills and enhance their employability. Due to the specific needs of the pupils we would be interested in applicants with experience of supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour.

The ideal applicant will have:

• Team-Teach trained (can be provided)
• A considerable amount of experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour
• Experience working within a special needs setting
• An understanding of the de-escalation tactics and crisis prevention

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
