Design Technology Teacher - Engineering, Product design & Construction

Full time January Start until the end of the academic year

Paid to scale

 

An excellent Secondary school in Newport are seeking a dynamic Design Technology (Engineering, Product design & construction) Teacher on a full time basis, from January 2021 until the end of the academic year. Due to an expansion within the Design Technology department, there is now a rare opportunity for a DT Teacher to join a welcoming team.

The Headteacher is seeking a passionate DT Teacher with industry experience who can ignite an enthusiasm within their pupils for pursuing the subject.

  • Full time DT Teacher required, January 2021
  • Must hold QTS alongside relevant qualification 
  • Must have an enhanced DBS (assistance required)
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS GBP23, 720 - GBP39, 406.

The school has been rated 'Good' by Estyn consistently over the last few years and has since facilitated an environment for the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning amongst all staff.

The incoming Design Technology Teacher will be responsible for;

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons designed to foster a passion for the subject and develop skills pupils require to progress.
  • Organising and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessons.
  • Support the pupils and class teacher in order to safely use equipment and resources.
  • Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in line with monitoring, maintaining resources and equipment ensuring it meets all relevant requirements
  • Operate and order materials, preparation and labelling of equipment and facilitate exhibition work.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
