THE SCHOOL:

Set in spacious grounds, with wonderful modern facilities, this outstanding school offers a supportive environment and excellent CPD opportunities. It is easily accessible via bus, train and car. It has excellent links with local sports and drama clubs and a long standing tradition of excellence in both areas. The SLT are supportive and knowledgeable and the team is stable. It has been graded outstanding in it's last two Ofsted reports, with particular praise being given to the quality of behavior in the school.

THE ROLE:

Based in the new art and design department, you will be required to teach Design/Technology KS3 - KS5. Planning, preparing and delivering lessons, ensuring good progress is made by all and providing interesting and stimulating lessons. You will be expected to work 5 days per week, contact time approx. 18 hours per week - the time table is still being finalised and can there fore be adapted to suit your specialism. It's a one year minimum maternity cover contract. The school has been let down last minute.

THE DEPARTMENT:

Based in the brand new art and design block (refurb finished May 2016) the art department has state of the art facilities and access to excellent modern resources. The department is overseen by an engaging and committed HOD who looks after the art technology departments. Their take on the curriculum is open to interpretation and teachers have a real say on what they teach.

REQUIREMENTS:

A UK recognised teaching qualification, i.e. BSc QTS, BA QTS, CERT ED, PGCE, B.Ed

Experience teaching DT to KS5

A can do attitude

A proven track record of raising attainment
