SEN/SEMH Support Staff – Day-to-Day Supply

PR7 Area | Flexible Working | Competitive Daily Rates

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We are currently recruiting dedicated and resilient Support Staff to work on a day-to-day supply basis across SEN and SEMH schools in the PR7 area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for flexible work while making a real difference in the lives of pupils who require additional support.

The Role

As a Support Worker/Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs.
  • Assist students with their academic, social and emotional development.
  • Help manage challenging behaviours using positive behaviour strategies.
  • Support teachers in creating a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs is desirable.
  • Backgrounds in education, care, youth work, mental health support, sports coaching or support work are highly valued.
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient, empathetic and proactive approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
