Job Title: Classroom Support Assistant (SEN Focus)
Location: Schools across the WN8 area
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time / Part-time opportunities available

About the Role:
We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Classroom Support Assistants with a focus on Special Educational Needs (SEN) to support a range of schools across the WN8 area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils who require additional support to access learning.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties, both in and out of the classroom
  • Work closely with class teachers to deliver tailored learning activities and interventions
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support, adapting learning materials to meet individual needs
  • Assist in managing behaviour positively, following school policies and behaviour plans
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and social development
  • Assist with personal care where required (training can be provided)
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs
  • Encourage pupil independence and confidence in their learning

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based or similar)
  • A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s development
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA) are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
