Teaching Assistant – SEN School (Day-to-Day Supply)

 Location: WN8 (Skelmersdale area)
Job Type: Flexible, Day-to-Day Supply

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work on a day-to-day supply basis in Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools across the WN8 area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking flexible work while making a real difference supporting children with additional needs.

You’ll be stepping into supportive school environments, assisting pupils with a range of needs including autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, and learning difficulties.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Help manage behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
  • Adapt to different school settings and classroom needs
  • Encourage independence and engagement in learning

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Adaptable, reliable, and confident working in different schools
  • Passionate about supporting children with SEN
  • Calm, patient, and resilient
  • A strong team player with good communication skills
  • Able to build positive relationships quickly

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (SEN experience desirable)
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
