Cover Teacher/ Cover Supervisor

Date posted : 07/08/18
£60 - £70 per day

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Have you recently graduated with a 2:2 degree or higher? Do you want to gain direct experience within schools before completing a PGCE? Are you seeking an exciting new challenge?

If so, Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with The Consortium Academy Trust. We are exclusively working with six secondary schools and sixth form colleges in Hull. These are:

  1. Wolfreton School and Sixth Form College
  2. Cottingham High School and Sixth Form College
  3. Hessle High School and Sixth Form College
  4. Howden School
  5. South Holderness Technology College
  6. Winifred Holtby Academy

As a cover supervisor you will be required to act in absence of the class teacher, delivering pre-prepared work. Your main role will therefore include delivering each lesson in accordance with the work that has been set. You will have to be assertive and confident to lead a secondary class as you will be covering year 7 to year 11 classes. You won't be required to mark each student's work but you will need to ensure that it is completed to the pupil's best ability and you must collect each piece in at the end of the lesson.

Working for The Consortium Academy Trust would mean that you would work across all six schools, depending on where the cover was needed. It would therefore be advantageous if you had a full UK valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle, or would be willing to travel to the schools via public transport.

Working within these schools would mean you would need to apply for an Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate and register it on the Update Service. You would also be required to complete Level 2 Safeguarding to ensure you're aware of the current policies and procedures regarding child safety.

Pay: £60 - £70 per day

Location: Hull and surrounding areas

If you're interested in gaining experience within schools and want to utilise your degree please send an up to date CV and covering letter to Sara Baron.
