Cover Supervisors/Unqualified Teachers required in Sturminster Newton

Cover supervisors are essential unqualified cover teachers who are able to take the responsibility of the full time class teacher if the full-time class teacher is absent.

Job Description

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a cover supervisor to work in a SEN (special educational needs) School catering for pupils with learning difficulties. The needs of attending pupils are varied, but may include:

  • PMLD (profound and multiple learning difficulties
  • MLD (moderate learning difficulties)
  • SLD ( severe learning difficulties)
  • Autism
  • Speech and language difficulties

This Special Educational Needs School is a day community school. Some children have additional sensory or physical impairments, speech and language disorders or medical needs. Others are statemented as being within the autistic spectrum. The school provides for 131 children and students between the ages of 2 and 19 years.

The role

For this role applicants will be working in classes formed of between 5 and 7 pupils, delivering pre-planned work with the support of 2 or 3 Teaching Assistants. The role will operate between 8.30 and 3.30, Monday to Friday. We can offer full time and part time positions as well as day to day supply work.

  • Parking available on site
  • Additional training opportunities available (Teaching Personnel CPD Academy)
  • £60 - £70 per day dependent on experience and qualifications

The candidate

To be considered for the role of cover supervisor, it is essential you have experience supporting young people in the classroom environment or have previously delivered lessons.

This school is not easily accessed by public transport so it is essential you have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
