Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools
Location: Wirral
Salary: £90 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term | September 2025 Start

Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in close partnership with a highly respected secondary schools in the Wirral area. We are seeking an enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work with our partnership schools as flexible cover supervisors.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into the classroom to deliver pre-set lessons during teacher absences – maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring students remain on task. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a secondary setting.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supervising lessons across the curriculum in the absence of the class teacher
- Ensuring students are engaged, focused, and following the set work
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Supporting students with questions or challenges during lessons
- Reporting back to teaching staff regarding student behaviour and progress
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
We’re open to a wide range of backgrounds – this role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, sports coaches, or anyone with experience working with young people.
Essential:
- Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A flexible and proactive attitude
- A genuine interest in working with secondary-aged students
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience in an education or youth work setting
- Degree-level education or relevant qualification
- Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour strategies
- An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
