Cover Supervisor Job Description

Location:

Guildford

Job Type:

Full-time or Part-time

Salary:

£110 - £150 Per day depending on qualifications

Qualifications:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualifications

Skills:

Strong classroom management skills, proactive approach, ability to adapt to different situations

Job Duties:

  • Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Ensure a positive learning environment for students
  • Follow the lesson plans provided by the absent teacher
  • Manage student behaviour and ensure discipline is maintained
  • Provide support to students with their learning and progress

Required Qualifications:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualifications

Education:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

Prior experience in a classroom setting is preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of classroom management techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional training in behaviour management or child development

Working Conditions:

The role involves working in a classroom setting with students of varying ages and abilities. The Cover Supervisor may need to adapt to different teaching styles and environments.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
