Job description

Cover Supervisors needed for schools in Derbyshire

  • CPD opportunities
  • Local work
  • Competitive rates of pay

There are a number of secondary schools in Derbyshire that require Cover Supervisors to work in the classrooms in place of absent teaching staff. This is a tremendous chance for graduates to earn some essential school-based experience. It is also a good opportunity for those individuals who are interested in a career in teaching to gain some invaluable work experience.

The principle responsibilities required for a Cover Supervisor include supervising work that has been set, controlling the behaviour of pupils, effectively responding to questions from pupils, aiding pupils with any work set and collecting finished work after lessons from a variety of subjects. Therefore, previous experience working with Secondary aged students in some capacity is essential.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
