Cover Supervisors – St Helens Secondary Schools – Ad Hoc Work from September 2025

Are you looking to gain valuable classroom experience or stay involved in education on a flexible basis? Teaching Personnel is seeking reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support a range of secondary schools in St Helens from September 2025.

This is an excellent opportunity for:

  • Aspiring or future teachers looking to build experience before training

  • PGCE students seeking flexible classroom work around their studies

  • Retired teachers who want to stay active in education without full-time commitment

Role Overview:

  • Supervising pre-set lessons in the absence of the class teacher

  • Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring students remain on task

  • Delivering clear instructions and supporting student learning

  • Working across a variety of subjects and year groups (KS3/KS4)

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience working with young people (e.g. in education, coaching, tutoring, mentoring)

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • A positive, professional attitude and flexible approach

  • A current enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
