Cover Supervisor - Salford Quays

Are you a recent graduate looking for a route into teaching in a secondary school?

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of our client academy in Salford Quays, who require a full time Cover Supervisor to join them from Easter 2019. This is an exciting role that will continue until the end of the academic year in the first instance, and is suitable for both experienced Cover Supervisors as well as recent graduates who are looking to gain classroom experience before potentially applying for a teacher training course in the future.

  • Opportunity to work in an Ofsted graded 'Good' 11-16 academy near Salford Quays
  • Paid experience in a classroom prior to potentially starting a PGCE
  • Applications accepted from graduates
  • Full time working hours, although there is potential for flexibility for the ideal candidate
  • Cover supervisor pay (ÂŁ54-ÂŁ70 a day - depending on experience)

The ideal candidate should be a confident, motivated and professional individual and ideally will have experience working with a range of learners. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be expected to deliver pre-planned work which has been left by the class teacher in their absence, as well as being able to deal with any immediate questions/issues that may arise in the classroom. Excellent behaviour management skills are highly desirable in this role, whilst also following important school procedures and policies. Candidates with a background in youth work and sports coaching will have many transferable skills.

Our partner school is located near to Media City in Salford Quays has recently appointed a new principal, who wants to build on the academy's previous success in their quest to be 'Outstanding' in the future. The academy has just over 500 students enrolled from the surrounding areas of Trafford and Hulme, and they are lucky enough to be educated in a multi-million pound complex which they moved to in 2012. The building itself is located a short walk from a tram stop, so it is easily accessible from a range of areas across Greater Manchester.

If you would like to apply for this post as a cover supervisor, please apply via the link below or send an updated CV to Chris Beckenham at Manchester North Secondary directly, alternatively call on the number provided for further information.
