Cover Supervisor – Rochdale

Would you like the opportunity to do some unqualified teaching? Are you looking for some experience in a secondary school?

Teaching Personnel are currently looking to register a number of Cover Supervisors to support our partner secondary schools across the Rochdale area. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who feel they have the skills to do some unqualified teaching, as well as those who would like to gain more classroom experience.

  • Cover Supervisors required for flexible work around Rochdale
  • Fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a range of secondary schools
  • Be in charge of your working schedule (part time and full time opportunities)
  • Graduates encouraged to apply – particularly those keen on teaching in the future
  • Earn up to GBP1200 per month

The role of a Cover Supervisor offers a great opportunity for individuals that are considering a career as a secondary school teacher in the future, offering valuable classroom experience before starting a Teacher Training course in the future. Experience of working with children within a school setting is desirable but not essential for applying for this role. Prospective applicants should have a strong classroom presence with the ability to manage behaviour, as well as the ability to build a strong rapport with both children and fellow staff members.

Working as a Cover Supervisor through Teaching Personnel will involve:

  • Supervising the cover work set by the absent teacher
  • Ensuring the children have the required resources to complete the work set by the teacher
  • Managing the behaviour of pupils during the lesson to ensure all work is completed to a high standard
  • Being on hand to assist with any questions the children may have regarding the work
  • Following the behaviour policy of the school
  • Collecting completed work after lessons and returning it to the appropriate teacher or department

If you would like to apply for this post as a Cover Supervisor, please apply via the link below or send an updated CV to Chris Beckenham at Manchester North Secondary directly, alternatively call on the number provided for further information.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
