Cover Supervisor

Job description

A successful school in Bournemouth are seeking to appoint a motivated and committed individual to the role of Cover Supervisor to work in school with Year 7 up to 11. This role is for 32.5 hours per week, term time only starting in October 2020. This position would be best suited to a candidate with a degree, who is looking to gain skills and experience as a Cover Supervisor before potentially perusing a  teacher training course.

You will be part of a team responsible for supervising whole classes of students to cover short-term absences of teachers (planned or emergency cover). This will involve facilitating students’ learning through supporting them with set activities (provided by teachers), responding to questions from students, and managing their behaviour according to Trust Policy.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be well-organised, confident and work well as part of a team. Previous experience in a similar role or classroom experience will be useful but not essential. However, flexibility, resilience, good numeracy and literacy skills and excellent communications skills will be key.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
