Job description

We are looking for Cover Supervisors and Unqualified Teachers in the Bournemouth and Poole Area!

Working as a cover supervisor can be very demanding but equally rewarding. Your main job will be to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task in completing the work they have been set by an absent teacher. You don't need specialist knowlege in a particular subject as work is set and marked by the main teacher which makes this an excellent opportunity for graduates who are interested in teaching but would like to gain some practical experience to see if it is for them.

You will be working as a Cover Supervisor for a market leader that has exclusive partnerships with Secondary Schools across Dorset and Wiltshire. Due to an increase in demand from schools in Bournemouth and Poole a number of opportunities have arisen. These Cover Supervision opportunities are on a permanent, long-term or daily supply cover basis and starting immediately. As a Cover Supervisor you will have the opportunity to work in a role that is flexible around your needs. Working for Teaching Personnel will enable you to work on a full time or part time basis to suit your commitments.

Your role and responsibilities as a cover supervisor will also include:

  • Effective communication of the work set by the absent teacher to students
  • Managing the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking set work
  • Responding to any questions from pupils
  • Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies which may arise
  • Reporting back as appropriate

To be considered for the role of Cover Supervisor you are required to:

  • Experience working with secondary aged children.
  • The ability to manage groups of children and cope with challenging behaviour
  • The ability to build good relationships.
  • Be a confident individual with a passion for Education

Working for Teaching Personnel, you will receive:

  • You will be paid a competitive wage on a weekly basis, based on your experience
  • You will receive the opportunity to join our exclusive CPD Academy to develop your skills and enhance your CV
  • Opportunity to take part in our Future Teachers Programme where you can complete Teacher Training whilst getting paid!
  • Guaranteed to work scheme
  • Referral scheme (GBP50 for each friend that joins us)

To apply for a Cover Supervisor role at Teaching Personnel please send an up to date CV via this advertisement.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
