Job Title: Cover Supervisor – Wigan Secondary Schools
Location: Across Wigan
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Flexible, Full-time or Part-time
Pay: £90–£110 per day (depending on experience)

We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a number of well-regarded Ofsted Good and Outstanding secondary schools in Wigan.
This is an ideal role for anyone considering a future in teaching or education – no formal teaching qualification is required, and full training is provided.
What is a Cover Supervisor?
A Cover Supervisor is responsible for supervising pre-set lessons in the absence of the regular class teacher. You won’t be expected to teach new content, but you’ll ensure students stay on task, follow the lesson plan, and maintain a positive classroom environment.
What You’ll Do:

Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across various subjects

Manage classroom behaviour and support students where necessary

Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and conduct

Cover lessons for short-term teacher absences across KS3 and KS4
Ideal Candidates Will:

Be confident managing groups of young people in a professional setting
-
Have strong communication and organisational skills
-
Be adaptable and willing to work in different schools across Wigan
-
Have experience working with young people (e.g. youth work, coaching, mentoring) – desirable but not essential

Hold an enhanced DBS (or be willing to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
