Location: Widnes
Position: Cover Supervisor – Secondary School
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible supply
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Are you an experienced Cover Supervisor looking for your next opportunity in a supportive secondary school environment? We are currently recruiting for confident, classroom-ready individuals to join our team, delivering high-quality lesson cover across schools in the Widnes area.


About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will deliver pre-set work, maintain classroom order, and ensure pupils remain engaged and focused throughout the lesson.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and manage pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects

  • Maintain discipline and classroom control in line with school policies

  • Ensure a positive learning environment where all pupils are supported

  • Record student attendance, engagement, and any issues arising

  • Provide feedback to teaching staff after lessons


Requirements:

  • Essential: Prior experience working as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar classroom-based role within a secondary school

  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills

  • A confident, professional, and adaptable approach

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
