Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Supervise students in the absence of a teacher
  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans effectively
  • Provide support to students with their learning activities
  • Maintain records of student attendance and behaviour

Required Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Child enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to acquire one

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviour effectively
  • Basic understanding of educational principles
  • Organisational skills and ability to follow instructions
  • At least three months' recent experience working in UK education (primary, secondary or SEN sectors)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • (Higher Level) Teaching Assistant qualification
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a school setting
  • Full-time hours during term time
  • Interact with students, teachers, and school staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
