Cover Supervisor

An opportunity has arisen to join the support staff at a school located in Tameside. As a cover supervisor, the role will involve covering lessons for staff who are absent. Whilst there is no expectancy to carry out any marking/grading, the role will involve ensuring that pupils are efficiently carrying out set tasks within the classroom.

Additionally:

• It is also expected that the individual will be able to effectively manage the behaviour of pupils. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in working with young people. Whilst prior experience working in a school is very desirable, this is not essential.
• There is potential for those that have previously worked within a community/youth setting  to certainly be considered for this position

This role acts as the perfect opportunity for those considering enrolling on a PGCE course, or wanting to begin a career within the education sector. The role will begin immediately, owing to the school’s need for a cover supervisor due to circumstances related to the ongoing pandemic.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Gaining classroom experience, working with children across a broad range of ages and backgrounds.
• Working in line with school policy to ensure that pupils are engaging fully with set tasks.
• Pay - GBP275-350 per week based on prior experience.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
