Job Title: Cover Supervisor – South Yorkshire

Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools throughout South Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience, develop your skills, and make a real difference in students’ education.
Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher. You won’t need to plan lessons yourself, but you’ll need to manage the classroom, keep pupils engaged, and ensure learning continues smoothly. This is an excellent stepping stone for aspiring teachers, education graduates, or anyone with a passion for working with young people.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervising whole classes during short-term teacher absences

Delivering set work and ensuring learning objectives are met
-
Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment

Supporting students with their work and answering questions where possible

Following school policies and safeguarding procedures
Requirements:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Confidence in managing groups of secondary school pupils
-
Ability to adapt to different school environments and subjects
-
Previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
