Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and high-achieving mainstream secondary school in Salisbury who are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join their team after October half-term. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a passion for education to gain valuable experience within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons to classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment is maintained. The role requires excellent classroom management skills, confidence in leading groups of students, and the ability to engage learners across a range of subjects at KS3 and KS4 levels.
This position would suit a graduate aspiring to pursue a career in teaching, a current HLTA, or an experienced Cover Supervisor looking for a new challenge. Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and manage classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task and follow set work.

Maintain a calm, safe, and focused classroom environment.

Follow school policies regarding behaviour management and safeguarding.

Support students in their learning and encourage positive engagement.

Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with secondary-aged students (school-based or in youth settings).

Strong communication and organisational skills.

Ability to adapt and manage behaviour effectively.

A confident, professional, and approachable manner.

A valid child workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
