Graduate Cover Supervisor

Salford Secondary Schools
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: £95 – £110 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role

Secondary schools within Salford are seeking enthusiastic and committed Graduate Cover Supervisors to support teaching and learning across the trust from September 2026.

This role is ideally suited to graduates who are considering a future career in teaching and are looking to gain high-quality, practical experience within a school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure continuity of learning
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour in line with school policies
  • Support students in completing work and remaining engaged
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding progress and behaviour
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment

The Candidate

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A degree qualification (any subject)
  • A clear interest in pursuing a career in education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to manage a classroom with confidence and professionalism
  • A proactive and adaptable approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people

Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
