Job description

Are you looking for a rewarding role in education where no two days are the same? Whether you're an experienced Cover Supervisor, a graduate considering a career in teaching, or someone with strong classroom management skills looking for a fresh challenge, we would love to hear from you.

We are working in partnership with a number of well-regarded secondary schools across Oldham who are seeking enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisors to support their students on both a full-time and part-time basis. These opportunities offer flexibility, variety and the chance to make a genuine difference in local schools.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with their learning. You will manage classroom behaviour, support pupils in completing set work and provide a positive learning environment that allows students to achieve their full potential. No lesson planning or marking is required, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people but do not yet hold a teaching qualification.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who possess strong communication skills, confidence in managing groups of students and a proactive approach to supporting learning. Previous experience working in education, coaching, tutoring, youth work, training, customer-facing roles or leadership positions would be highly advantageous, although full support and guidance will be provided for suitable candidates.

In return, you will have access to a range of opportunities across Oldham's secondary schools, with flexible working patterns to suit your lifestyle. Whether you are seeking daily supply, long-term placements or a permanent route into education, we can help you find a position that aligns with your career goals. You'll benefit from competitive daily rates, ongoing professional development, dedicated support from an experienced education consultant and the opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience.

This role is ideal for aspiring teachers looking to gain school-based experience before undertaking teacher training, experienced Cover Supervisors seeking additional work, graduates exploring a career in education or individuals who simply enjoy working with young people and making a positive impact.

If you're passionate about education, confident leading a classroom and ready for your next opportunity in a secondary school setting, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today with an up-to-date CV to join a growing network of Cover Supervisors supporting schools across Oldham and start making a difference from day one.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
