Job description

Are you looking to build a rewarding career in education? Do you have experience working with young people and the confidence to manage a classroom environment? We are recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in a range of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Oldham on both a full-time and part-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced Cover Supervisors, youth workers, sports coaches, teaching assistants, or anyone with transferable experience working with young people. Whether you are seeking regular full-time work or flexible part-time assignments to fit around other commitments, we have opportunities available to suit your needs.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and focused on their learning. You will supervise classes across a variety of subjects, manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, and provide a positive and professional learning environment. No planning or marking is required, making this an ideal role for individuals looking to gain school-based experience without the additional responsibilities of teaching.

The successful candidate will be confident communicating with secondary-aged students, resilient in managing classroom behaviour, and able to adapt to different school settings. You will have strong organisational skills, a proactive attitude, and a genuine passion for supporting young people in their education. Previous experience working with children, young people, or within an educational setting would be beneficial, although full support and guidance can be provided.

In return, you will have access to a variety of opportunities across well-regarded secondary schools in Oldham, offering flexibility, valuable classroom experience, and the chance to develop your skills within the education sector. This role can provide an excellent pathway into teacher training, educational support roles, or long-term school-based careers

To be considered for this role, applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and reference checks in line with safeguarding requirements.

If you are passionate about making a difference in schools and want to gain valuable classroom experience in secondary education, apply today to join our growing network of Cover Supervisors supporting schools across Oldham. Please apply with an updated CV!

We look forward to hearing from you!
