Cover Supervisor

 Location: Monmouthshire (NP7, NP8)
 Start Date: October 2025
 Pay: From £100 per day
 Hours: 8:30am – 3:00pm

Are you looking to gain classroom experience in a secondary school setting without the pressure of planning or marking? Teaching Personnel is working closely with a well-regarded secondary school in Monmouthshire to recruit Cover Supervisors for the new academic year.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes of pupils aged 11–16 in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Ensure students remain on task and follow the lesson plan provided
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively
  • Provide support and guidance where needed
  • Maintain a calm and productive learning environment

This is a great opportunity for anyone considering a career in education or looking to build experience in a school setting. No teaching qualification is required.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Confident leading a classroom and managing behaviour
  • Able to keep students focused and on task
  • Adaptable, dependable, and a strong communicator
  • Passionate about working with young people

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
  • EWC registration (or willing to apply)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Two recent references
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training (free online course provided by Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
