Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Hertfordshire (various secondary schools)
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible Supply Opportunities
Salary: £95 – £150 per day (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about education and keen to play a vital role in supporting young people’s learning? We are seeking enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisors to join our network of secondary schools across Hertfordshire.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into classrooms in the absence of the teacher, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals considering a career in teaching or education, or for those who enjoy working with young people in a school environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

  • Encourage students to remain on task and complete set work.

  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and classroom conduct.

  • Support the wider school community when required.


We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Can engage and motivate young people with a calm, professional manner.

  • Is reliable, flexible, and adaptable to different classroom settings.

  • Ideally has prior experience working with young people (not essential).

  • Is interested in pursuing a career in teaching or education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
