Cover Supervisor – Durham Secondary Schools

Ad hoc supply cover, £95 to £110 per day, flexible work across various schools.

Teaching Personnel is seeking confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to provide ad hoc supply cover across a range of secondary schools in Durham. This flexible role is ideal for individuals looking to gain varied classroom experience, maintain work life balance, or explore a career in education.

You'll deliver pre prepared lessons to students aged 11 to 16 in the absence of their usual teacher. Your key responsibility will be ensuring students remain on task and engaged with their learning while maintaining a calm, positive and productive classroom environment. Depending on the setting, you may also be required to support pupils with special educational needs and provide clear feedback to teaching staff regarding student behaviour and progress.

You need:

  • Experience working with secondary aged pupils (SEN experience advantageous)
  • Confidence managing classrooms
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
  • Effective communication with both students and staff
  • Enthusiasm, resilience and genuine commitment to supporting young people's education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
