Maths Graduate Cover Supervisor – Durham Secondary School

April 2026 start, £90 to £110 per day, full time or part time available, long term placement or day to day work.

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a well established and high achieving secondary school in Durham to recruit a passionate and dedicated Maths Graduate. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive Maths department, where you'll play a key role in inspiring students and raising attainment in mathematics.

The opportunity:

• Maths Graduate Cover Supervisor
• March/April 2026 start
• Hold or predicted a maths degree (or related) with a 2:2 or above
• Full time or part time, Monday to Friday
• £450 to £500 per week pro rata, term time only
• Chance to gain invaluable classroom experience before teacher training

You need:

• Recent graduate with a degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject
• Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and curriculum content
• Experience working with children or in an educational setting (desirable but not essential)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, enthusiasm, and ability to engage and motivate students
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for education and helping students succeed

What you'll be doing:

• Supporting classroom activities and assisting in delivering Mathematics lessons to students of various age groups and abilities
• Providing one to one or small group tuition to students who need additional help, either inside or outside of class time
• Assisting in the preparation of teaching materials and resources
• Helping to monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents
• Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Supporting students with homework and assignments
• Assisting with administrative duties related to student progress tracking and classroom organisation

Contract: Full time or part time, long term placement or day to day
Start: March 2026
Pay: £90 to £110 per day (£450 to £500 per week pro rata)
Location: Durham secondary school
