Job Title: Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools
Location: Durham
Salary: £90–£100 per day (paid weekly via PAYE)
Contract Type: Flexible and Full-Time Available
Start Date: September 2025
Are you comfortable leading a classroom but prefer to focus on supporting learning rather than lesson planning? We’re seeking confident and dependable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Durham.
This role suits those with experience in education or related fields like youth work, coaching, or mentoring. You’ll deliver pre-set lessons, manage behaviour, and support students to keep learning on track.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering prepared lessons across a variety of subjects
- Maintaining student engagement and managing classroom behaviour
- Assisting students with classwork and daily routines
- Becoming a familiar, supportive presence within local schools
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience working with young people, in schools, coaching, mentoring, or youth work
- Confidence in leading classes and managing behaviour
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments
- Professional, approachable, and proactive attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
