A well-established secondary school in Blandford is looking to expand its team of bank supply workers. The school is committed to providing a high-quality education and a supportive learning environment for all students. They are currently seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and adaptable Ad-Hoc Cover Supervisor to join the team on an as-needed basis, starting as soon as possible.
Job Description:
The Cover Supervisor will be responsible for managing classrooms and supervising students in the absence of their regular teacher. They will ensure that students stay on task, maintain discipline, and support their learning throughout the lesson. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and can quickly adapt to different classroom settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage students in the classroom, ensuring a productive and respectful learning environment.
- Follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher and ensure that students engage with the material.
- Manage classroom behavior in line with the school’s behavior policy.
- Provide support to students as needed, ensuring they remain focused and on task.
- Offer feedback to the appropriate staff regarding student progress and any issues that arise during the lesson.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a school setting (although not essential).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage a classroom effectively.
- Adaptable, reliable, and flexible, with the ability to work across different subject areas and year groups.
- A positive, proactive attitude with a genuine interest in education.
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
