Cover Supervisor

Secondary School Setting- Birmingham (B27, Acocks Green)

Rate of pay- £100-130 (per day, dependent upon experience)

Start - ASAP

Hours- Flexible

 

About the role

- Step in for classes in the absence of the main class teacher

- Supervise a range of classes from Years 7-11 in a mainstream secondary school

- Manage classroom behaviours and ensure students remain on task at all times

- Create a calm, positive, learning environment

- Provide relevant support to students where needed

- Raise any concerns and communicate effectively with staff within the school

 

What are we looking for?


- Someone with a strong classroom presence and confident interpersonal skills

- Previous experience working as a cover supervisor or within education/care settings is desirable but not essential

- Someone with a genuine passion for education who may want more classroom experience before committing to a teaching course or to simply enhance their skillset

- Excellent behaviour management skills and ability to engage pupils who express challenging behaviour

- Ability to follow pre-set lesson plans effectively, ensuring all work is completed

- Regularly walk around the classroom, ensuring pupils are on task and work is being completed, providing support to pupils who may be struggling

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
