Location: Plymouth
Start Date: September 2025
Pay: Competitive – Based on Experience

Are you an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to build experience in the classroom? Or do you have strong classroom management skills and want the flexibility of supply work? We’re currently recruiting Cover Supervisors for secondary schools in the Plymouth area, starting this September.

The Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be delivering pre-set lessons to classes across a range of subjects, maintaining order and ensuring students stay engaged with their learning. This is a non-teaching role, so planning and marking are not required – perfect for those looking to gain classroom experience without the workload of a full teaching position.

This Role Is Ideal For:

  • ECTs looking to gain hands-on classroom experience and build confidence.

  • Experienced individuals with strong classroom management skills.

  • Those seeking flexible, part-time, or ad hoc work.

  • Candidates considering a future career in teaching or education support.

Requirements:

  • A passion for education and working with young people.

  • Strong classroom presence and behaviour management.

  • Flexibility to work on an ad hoc basis during term time.

  • Previous school experience or a background in youth work, coaching, or tutoring is beneficial but not essential.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay (rate dependent on experience).

  • Flexible working around your availability.

  • Opportunities to gain experience in a variety of schools and subjects.

  • Ongoing support from a dedicated education team.

If you're looking for a rewarding role with flexibility and variety – and want to make a positive impact in local schools – we’d love to hear from you!

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
