Teaching Personnel are looking for Core Subject Tutors in English, Maths & Science to work with Looked After Children in and around Greater Manchester, particularly at the moment in Stockport and Oldham. However, area is not a factor now as tuition would be for online virtual sessions and then when COVID restrictions change in the future, to have the flexibility to attend the home environment where necessary would be desirable.

Teaching Personnel work with Residential Care Homes and Local Authorities on various assignments to provide 1:1 tuition with young people that for various reasons cannot be within or attend mainstream education. This could be for reasons such as pregnancy, bullying, SEMH or behavioural/anxiety needs, unaccompanied children seeking asylum or children that require booster sessions to be able to return to the school environment.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

• An outgoing and resilient personality – the majority of the Looked After Children are disengaged with education, therefore providing interactive and creative sessions would be essential.
• The ability to work on their own initiative in regards to ensuring that health and safety procedures are met, and the welfare of the children.
• Experience of working on a 1:1 basis with a variety of ability levels, from GCSE to Functional Skills (desirable).
• A proven track record in teaching, and have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

What Teaching Personnel can provide

Teaching Personnel are Education Specialists with 23 years’ experience in the field. You will be provided with your own specialist consultant who will take care of your needs and advise you through the clearing and work process. You will have access to free safeguarding training and an online diary so you can manage your work times more efficiently. You will also have access to our CPD Academy, in which you will be able to attend training courses in order to aid your personal development in your career.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
