• Permanent Term-Time Only£27,324 – £30,989 (Actual Salary)

We are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established Alternative Provision Trust in Burnley to recruit a Construction Tutor for a full-time, permanent position starting in the autumn term. The successful candidate will deliver vocational construction lessons to secondary-aged pupils who require a more personalised and supportive educational environment.

Role Overview:

As Construction Tutor, you will lead sessions in areas such as woodworking, machine operation, and painting & decorating. This is an excellent opportunity to use your practical skills and industry experience to make a meaningful impact on pupils who face barriers to learning in mainstream settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, practical construction-based lessons aligned with agreed schemes of work

• Maintain a safe, well-organised learning environment with thorough risk assessments

• Record student progress and set appropriate independent learning tasks

• Support pupils in developing employability and life skills alongside their core education

• Contribute to curriculum planning, development, and assessment

Person Specification:

• City & Guilds (Construction) or equivalent qualification

• Recent and relevant industry experience

• A clear understanding of health & safety practices within a workshop setting

• Strong planning and organisational skills

• Experience working with young people, particularly those with additional needs, is desirable

• A willingness to maintain up-to-date industry knowledge and standards
