- Full-Time - 37 hours per week
- Permanent Term-Time Only£27,324 – £30,989 (Actual Salary)
- Start Date: September – October 2025
- Closing Date: 31st July 2025 at 13:00

We are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established Alternative Provision Trust in Burnley to recruit a Construction Tutor for a full-time, permanent position starting in the autumn term. The successful candidate will deliver vocational construction lessons to secondary-aged pupils who require a more personalised and supportive educational environment.
Role Overview:
As Construction Tutor, you will lead sessions in areas such as woodworking, machine operation, and painting & decorating. This is an excellent opportunity to use your practical skills and industry experience to make a meaningful impact on pupils who face barriers to learning in mainstream settings.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging, practical construction-based lessons aligned with agreed schemes of work

Maintain a safe, well-organised learning environment with thorough risk assessments

Record student progress and set appropriate independent learning tasks

Support pupils in developing employability and life skills alongside their core education

Contribute to curriculum planning, development, and assessment
Person Specification:
-
City & Guilds (Construction) or equivalent qualification
-
Recent and relevant industry experience
-
A clear understanding of health & safety practices within a workshop setting

Strong planning and organisational skills
-
Experience working with young people, particularly those with additional needs, is desirable
-
A willingness to maintain up-to-date industry knowledge and standards

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
