Job description

Are you a recent Computer Science Graduate thinking of a career in teaching? 

Due to a lack of PGCE applications throughout the pandemic and thereafter, Secondary Schools are now seeking recent Computer Science graduates to join them on a permanent basis as an unqualified teacher, to help with demand for the subject. 

Our partner school located in Oldham (OL2), are seeking a recent Computing Graduate to assist with teaching the KS3 curriculum to students of varying abilities. This is a full-time role, which after a successful placement will lead on to a paid training programme with the school in order to gain QTS, without the need of a PGCE. The school have a supportive and hands on Senior Leadership Team, who are adept at giving a thorough training process in order to equip you this new role.

The Role:

  • Working alongside the Head of Department to deliver engaging theoretical and practical lessons to KS3 students.
  • Lessons will be pre-planned for you, however there is the opportunity to take on further responsibilities and a full-style teaching role including planning and marking
  • Managing student behaviour and ensuring students are focussed on tasks set

The ideal candidate:

  • Recent Computer Science Graduate
  • Previous experience working with children in either a professional or voluntary capacity (Desirable)
  • Obtains a valid DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one
