An outstanding sixth form college is looking for an Educational Support Assistant (i.e. Teaching Assistant) to support students for the here and now whilst also looking ahead to August/September of the new academic year (25^th August 2026):

This sixth form college situated in the inner-city area of central Manchester is looking to recruit an Educational Support Assistant (i.e. Teaching Assistant) to start with them as soon as possible but happy to wait until the start of the summer term for the right person (Monday 20^th April). The successful Support Assistant will be required on a full-time basis for the remainder of the academic year with the opportunity to secure a college-based contract thereafter.

The role of the teaching assistant at this mixed sixth form college is to fulfil a fully varied role which will include supporting students in lessons, assisting any students who are identified as having SEN as well as “Pathways” students who study vocational subjects and follow a plan to become independent. The successfully appointed teaching assistant will therefore need to possess skills such as adaptability, confidence and willingness to help students.

Key aspects of this teaching assistant role:

• Full time teaching assistant/ESA required starting as soon as possible for the reminder of the academic year; latest Monday 20^th April 2026
• Pay will range between £1950 - £2100 per month dependent upon hours and experience levels
• 1-year fixed term contract for the successful teaching assistant progressing onto and earning a college based contract following 1 successful term with Teaching Personnel

The college is located in the central Manchester area close to the major bus route. It is therefore easy for any teaching assistants to get to this college utilising the public transport network.
