College Assistant for SEN Pupil

We are seeking to appoint passionate staff members that have experience supporting pupils and young adults with SEN and additional needs in order to access Education. The role is supporting either on a 1:1 basis a pupil at College or Supporting in a small group of students so that they can access learning.

There are both short and long term placements available, with the average day starting at 9am and finishing at 3pm.

This role involves a great deal of flexibility in the duties you will be required to do, for example, this could include:

• Physically supporting the learners with the use or wheelchairs and other mobility
• You may be asked to assist with note taking as part of the students particular needs
• Working outside in various weather conditions and taking part in vocational courses that includes animal care and gardening.
• Regular outings to support students with independent living
• Providing medical and personal care support where required

This role will involve working in small groups and also on a 1:1 basis, therefore the ideal candidate should have experience working in both of these areas. Experience as a support worker for SEN or ASC would be advantageous.
