Classroom Teaching Assistant – Full Time

Location: Fulwood, Preston
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, fixed-term (initially until December 2026, with potential extension)
Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 3:30pm

The Role

We are looking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic Classroom Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive school based in Fulwood, Preston. This full-time role involves providing general classroom support across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, helping pupils to engage with learning and reach their full potential.

You will work closely with class teachers to support whole-class learning as well as small group and occasional 1:1 support where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils across KS1 and KS2 within the classroom environment
  • Assist the class teacher with the delivery of lessons and learning activities
  • Provide small group and individual support to reinforce learning
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive engagement
  • Support the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working in a school or classroom setting is desirable
  • Positive, proactive, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for supporting children’s learning and development
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are advantageous but not essential
