Full time: 8:30-3:30 (Monday-Friday)

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a classroom assistant to work in one our partner schools in the heart of Barry. The school is easily accessible by public transport and has good parking facilities.

This is a full-time role where you will be working within one of the foundation phase classes within the school. The team of staff are eager to welcome a proactive and friendly teaching assistant to the team. The school is highly committed to offering the best possible education to the children within the school whilst also providing support to staff and their wellbeing.

You do not need previous classroom experience, however other professional or personal experience working with children would be beneficial. The main skills and characteristics for the role is the ability to demonstrate an eagerness to help children learn to the best of their abilities.

Day to day activities include:

-          Assisting the class teacher with behaviour management

-          Ensuring classroom is tidy

-          Setting up necessary equipment for lessons throughout the day

-          Supervising children over lunch time

-          Leading small reading groups of 6-8 pupils

-          Offering support with numeracy on a 1:1 basis or in small groups

Essential Requirements:

-          To be registered with the Education Workforce Council

-          To apply for an Enhanced child only DBS on the update service

-          2x professional references

-          Right to work in the UK
