Full-Time Classroom Assistant

A specialist SEN school in Wincanton is seeking a full-time Classroom Assistant to join their supportive team this September.
The school caters to primary-aged pupils (5–11 years old) with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
The ideal candidate will be caring, patient and ready to support children who may require a more tailored learning approach.
Key Responsibilities:

Supporting individual pupils and small groups with daily learning

Assisting the teacher in managing classroom activities and behaviour

Helping pupils develop emotional regulation and social skills

Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

Collaborating with staff and specialists to meet individual needs
What We’re Looking For:

A passion for supporting children with SEN
-
Experience in a school or care setting (preferred but not essential)
-
A calm, resilient and proactive approach
-
DBS registered with the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
