Full-Time Classroom Assistant

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a meaningful difference in children’s lives?

A specialist SEN school in Wincanton is seeking a full-time Classroom Assistant to join their supportive team this September.

The school caters to primary-aged pupils (5–11 years old) with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.

The ideal candidate will be caring, patient and ready to support children who may require a more tailored learning approach.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting individual pupils and small groups with daily learning

  • Assisting the teacher in managing classroom activities and behaviour

  • Helping pupils develop emotional regulation and social skills

  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Collaborating with staff and specialists to meet individual needs

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • A passion for supporting children with SEN

  • Experience in a school or care setting (preferred but not essential)

  • A calm, resilient and proactive approach

  • DBS registered with the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
