Are you an enthusiastic and committed primary teacher with a passion for Key Stage 2 education?

A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Chorley (PR6) is seeking to appoint a Key Stage 2 Class Teacher and a Key Stage 1 Class Teacher —one full-time and one part-time — to join their team from February 2026. These fixed-term positions are for the remainder of the academic year (with the potential to become permanent) and offer a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a supportive school community.
About the Role:
You will take full responsibility for teaching a Key Stage 2 class (Year 3 or Year 4, depending on school needs) or a Key Stage 1 class (Year 1) delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across the national curriculum. The successful candidates will be supported by a dedicated team of teaching assistants, subject leads, and senior staff who are committed to promoting high standards and pupil wellbeing.
You will be expected to plan, assess, and deliver high-quality learning experiences that meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and EAL.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across all areas of the Key Stage 1/2 curriculum
• Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress in line with school and national expectations
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports learning and development
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and support staff to meet the needs of all pupils
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including parent engagement, enrichment activities, and school events
• Uphold the school's safeguarding and child protection policies
Essential Requirements:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Recent experience teaching within a UK primary school
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum, assessment frameworks, and phonics
• A nurturing and adaptable approach to behaviour management and pastoral care
• Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s academic and personal development
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils
We Offer:
• Competitive pay: £140 - £195 per day
• Weekly pay
• A supportive and collaborative school environment
• Opportunities for CPD and professional growth
• A chance to make a real difference in the lives of young learners
